St. Louis Specialty Gas Equipment Spotlight: Gas Purifiers

It’s no secret that our primary business at Cee Kay Supply, Inc. is selling specialty gases for commercial, industrial, medical, scientific, and agricultural use. But customers know they also can rely on us for the gear needed to ship, cache, regulate, and use those gases safely. One such category of equipment they really value is our line of gas purifiers.

The St. Louis semiconductor industry definitely calls on us for point-of-use gas purifiers that eliminate impurities down to part-per-trillion (pptV) levels. This kind of purity is indispensable for manufacturing not only semiconductors but also all manner of display, LED, and solar products.

To be specific, we offer …

  • high-pressure gas purifiers, these constructed for use in all sorts of laboratory and industrial projects where oil or water have to be segregated from a gas in order to increase its utility and circumvent equipment shutdown.
  • gas purifiers that, while similar to our high-pressure models, are engineered to deal with higher capacities at a lower working pressure.
Note that these two types of purifiers must used along with specially made replaceable cartridges containing one of various adsorbents. Relevant to the cartridge/adsorbent provided, these purifiers can exclude more than oil and water from industrial process gases; they also have the ability to exclude water from inert gases and saturated hydrocarbons, exclude many particulates, and exclude water from unsaturated hyrocarbons, such as acetylene.
  • a series of gas purifiers specially made to exclude up to 1% of oxygen from a hydrogen stream down to a level below 1 ppm. They achieve this by catalytic action. If the catalytic materials aren’t contaminated (especially by sulfur and halogens), they’ll perform pretty much forever without requiring regeneration.
